Salary: £28,172 per annum pro rata - including London Allowance. This is the expected starting salary for this post. Appointment at a higher point may be made for candidates who demonstrate exceptional skills and experience relevant to the role.

Hours: 2 days (14 hours) per week during term time (30 weeks) and 2 days per week for 4 weeks outside of term time

Royal Holloway, University of London wishes to appoint a Roman Catholic Chaplain, either an ordained priest/deacon or a Catholic lay chaplain, who meets the requirements of the Catholic Diocese of Arundel and Brighton and the University. It is an occupational requirement that the appointee is a practising Catholic.

The University is seeking someone to help develop Catholic faith and worship on campus, to offer pastoral care, to be a strong, visible presence on campus and to build and foster healthy community through outreach activity.

The Catholic Chaplain will work supportively and collaboratively within the Multifaith Chaplaincy team, a well-supported and ecumenical team within the University. The postholder will be required to work 2 days (14 hours) per week during term time (30 weeks) and 2 days per week for 4 weeks outside of term time to help with term preparation and student support. The Catholic Chaplain may occasionally be required to be available at agreed times for out-of-hours University events.

The role holder will have close engagement with the Catholic Diocese of Arundel and Brighton including participation with local Church colleagues for collaborative activities and to offer mutual support.
