Choosing a Catholic Primary School – Guidance for Parents and Carers

Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions parents will make on behalf of their child. The Diocese has fantastic state-funded Catholic primary schools, ensuring that children can benefit from vital initial teaching during the formative years of each pupil.  Our schools work in close partnership with parents and carers to enable each student to reach their full potential. Each school is a Catholic community in which Gospel values are taught and lived out by daily experience.

Catholic schools are central to the Church’s mission in education, to place Christ and the teaching of the Catholic Church at the centre of people’s lives. The commitment of Catholic schools to the vision of every human person as a child of God and sister and brother of Jesus is central to the achievement of excellence. Our state-funded schools are free and do not require fees.

The guidance booklets below outline the benefits of Catholic primary schools in Sussex and Surrey. They list the schools’ locations and contact details and take parents and carers through the school application process, including the importance of listing Catholic schools as your first preferences.
