The Secular Clergy Common Fund was first set up c.1701 to support Catholic priests when they were sick or needed to retire, and drew on similar funds going back to the mid 1600s. The Fund continues this work today, making grants of approaching £1million a year to support sick and retired priests in South East England (the dioceses of the old London District).
The successful candidate for the role of part-time Secretary and Chief Executive Officer is likely to hold a good degree or have equivalent professional experience and will work three days per week (with flexible hours to be agreed), at a salary of £30-36k per annum (£50-£60k FTE).
The role is well-suited to remote working, with regular visits to two cemeteries, St Mary’s and St Patrick’s, as required.
