Applications for this summer's Pilgrimage to Lourdes (25-31 July by air, 24 July-1 August by coach/Jumbulance) are now open on our website.

Our pilgrimage to Lourdes is one of the most significant pastoral events in our annual diocesan calendar, with hundreds of members of our diocesan community visiting the Grotto together each year.

We travel to France with more than 700 pilgrims. Our pilgrimage is "Love in Action" and we journey to Lourdes to serve each other and to renew our commitment to walk with Jesus Christ with the help of Our Lady and St Bernadette.

Pilgrims of all ages travel together, including:

• Assisted Pilgrims, who are sick, disabled, frail or elderly and need our help to make the pilgrimage.
• Helpers, who offer their service to others on the pilgrimage in a spirit of love and generosity.
• The Family Group, for families with children up to age 14, who pray, play and socialise together as a hotel group during the week.
• Our Redshirts, in School Years 10 & 11, explore what it means to be a Catholic within a group of other young people while offering service to others.
• Purpleshirts, in School Year 12, who offer their service to others as a helper during the day and come together as a group each evening to explore what it means to be a Catholic and socialise together.
• Independent Pilgrims, whose prayerful participation is vital to the life of the pilgrimage.
• The amazing medical team of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, who provide medical care for our Assisted Pilgrims while in Lourdes, responding to both their professional calling and their call to be followers of the Lord, in this holy place.
• Clergy and Religious, who offer chaplaincy support in our hotel groups.
