Bishop Richard celebrated Mass for the Lay Dominicans of Crawley at St Theodore of Canterbury, Gossops Green on Saturday 29 April, the Feast of St Catherine of Siena. The joyful occasion marked the inauguration of the Crawley Lay Fraternity with members joined by friends and family, including the Dominican Missionary Sisters who provide wonderful support to the Fraternity.
Also present were Fr Raymond Tumba, Fr Peter Chiwendu Ojiaku and Fr Nelson Daniel, part of the Augustinian clergy who serve the parish of Crawley, as well as fellow Lay Dominicans from London Fraternity and from the Lay Provincial Council.
Lay Dominicans are men and women from every walk of life, living fully in the world, whilst making a lifelong commitment to the Order in the spirit and charism of St Dominic. At the celebration Mass, Bishop Richard said: "The Lay Dominicans are a great blessing for the whole Diocese".
The Crawley Lay Fraternity meets regularly for prayer, formation and fellowship. If you would like to find out more about the group, please contact President Tonya Tynan by email here.
