Cardinal Newman Catholic School's Foodbank 'Foody Friday'.

December 14, 2022

Students and staff at Cardinal Newman Catholic School (CNCS) in Hove, have been collecting food and toy donations for local food banks throughout this half term. 'Foody Friday' was initiated by the Chaplaincy Ambassadors of the school, to encourage staff and students to donate food and toys in order to support the local community.

Although many people have been affected by the cost of living crisis, the Newman Family have come through and managed to gather a huge amount to donate, along with some specially wrapped gifts for children this Christmas. The donations were taken to Hangleton & West Blatchington Food Bank this week, just in time for Christmas.

CNCS Principal, Claire Jarman, said:

"This Christmas is going to be a tough one for so many and we are so proud that the Newman Family has come together to try and give what we can to those most in need. Even families who won't have much themselves this year have contributed, truly living out our gospel values."
