Members of the Education Service gathered in the Chapel at the St Philip Howard Centre on Wednesday afternoon, to celebrate a liturgy of thanksgiving for the service of diocesan Buildings Officer, Mark Brunet.
During the service, Bishop Richard awarded Mark the 'Benemerenti Medal' which is bestowed by the Pope upon clergy and laity in recognition of their service to the Catholic Church. Speaking after the liturgy, Education Service Director, Julie Oldroyd, said:
"Mark has been Buildings Officer for nine years and he has demonstrated an invaluable understanding of how buildings serve the function of educating pupils. His pragmatic approach and breadth of experience has been appreciated by all who have worked with him. We wish him all the best for a happy and well-deserved retirement."
