On Sunday 15 December, St Barnabas Church in East Molesey was full as Bishop Richard inducted Emma Daly as Head of School at St Alban’s Catholic Primary. Fr Richard Biggerstaff concelebrated along with Fr Marco Villani, and Emma’s family, staff and governors were present for this joyful occasion along with Xavier Catholic Education Trust and the Diocesan Education Service.
Pupils from the school formed the choir, led by Polly Narcisi, Chair of Governors, and they sang a beautiful rendition of "Gaudete" during Communion. Bishop Richard spoke of the role of the Catholic school at the heart of the Church’s mission and Fr Richard said that a strong relationship was growing between parish and school, which he greatly values. The celebrations continued in the parish hall after Mass.
St Alban's School is an Outstanding Catholic Primary School that strives for excellence in all aspects of its provision. It is an oversubscribed two-form entry school set within a beautiful tree-lined site, near Hampton Court Palace. The school's mission is to "Lead the Way" in a place of educational excellence, with Christ at the centre.
