The Parish of the Nativity of the Lord welcomed Thomas Hall, Head of School at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Redhill for his Induction Mass, celebrated by Bishop Richard. Family, colleagues from Xavier Catholic Education Trust and the Education Service were warmly welcomed to the parish on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, for a joyful celebration involving the parish music group and pupils from the school.
In the Pastoral Letter issued by Bishop Richard for the Feast, we are reminded that “In this Jubilee Year, the Holy Father has called us to be Pilgrims of Hope. Our hope is the Kingdom to which we look forward and it is this hope, grounded in faith and expressed also in love, that is the Christian’s Mission – our gift to the world. It is nothing less than the proclamation of the Kingdom of Christ Himself.” Through our baptism we are called to respond to this mission, which is one our school leaders are particularly called to through their vocation.
Fr Tony Bridson and Deacon Tim Murrill invited the congregation to join the monthly Justice and Peace lunch after Mass which was cooked and served by members of the group.
