Olivia Darby from the Wonder Foundation will be delivering a special talk at St Pius X Church in Guildford on Wednesday 1 February at 7.30pm. The Wonder Foundation is a global charity which seeks to enable local women leaders in some of the most disadvantaged places in the world to lift their fellow women and girls out of poverty through the gift of education - a field of mission which, sadly, often means grappling with the terrible reality of female slavery, the sex trade and human trafficking.
Olivia is the Chief Programmes Officer for the Foundation and a Catholic, with many of the Wonder Foundation's partners religious sisters. The talk will form part of Guildford's 'Parish Aware' anti-slavery programme. All are very welcome to attend; to register your free place please click here.
Every year, thousands of men, women and children fall into the hands of human traffickers, becoming unpaid modern-day slaves in their own countries and abroad. You can find out more about fighting modern slavery on the diocesan website.
