Today, hundreds of people from our Diocese are on the move! By plane, by train, by coach, by car, by Jumbulance – even by bicycle! – they are on pilgrimage to the southern French town of Lourdes, in answer to Our Lady’s invitation to “Come in procession”. They carry with them prayers and intentions for our whole community.

Among the 848 pilgrims travelling are 91 Redshirts (school years 10-11), 60 Young Helpers (year 12), more than 120 Assisted Pilgrims, over 20 priests and deacons, 12 lay chaplains, more than 200 Helpers, and nearly 50 members of the clinical team.

Let us pray for those travelling and those staying at home but with the Lourdes Pilgrimage in their hearts, that we will all be blessed by this holy time.

In the evening, those already in Lourdes will come together the pray the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary in their hotels and the Accueil Notre Dame (specially adapted accommodation for those who require significant help with personal care, with clinicians and helpers available 24 hours a day).

You can read the Pilgrimage Handbook, to follow the Pilgrimage's prayers, Masses and events, by clicking the button below.
