The 27th annual Parish Pantomime took place in the February half-term in Bognor Regis. This year’s production, Mother Goose, certainly saw the goose lay the golden egg: after all expenses had been accounted for, the organisers were pleased to report a record profit of £2,265.56. Raising money is not the principle reason for putting on the annual show: that remains, as it always has been, to draw people of all ages together from across the Parish for months of fun and laughter in rehearsal and, hopefully, to share that joy with their wonderful audiences.
Fr Chris Bergin, Parish Priest, said:
"Taking part in the Parish Pantomime is a great way to spend time with cast and crew putting something together that brings joy to many people and helps us get to know each other a little better. We can all share our talents and gifts, however large or small the part we play!"
This year there were 36 people in the cast, the youngest being 6 years old and the eldest nearer 80, plus there were many people working behind the scenes.
The organisers wish to thanks to everyone involved in the production and especially to thank those who filled the auditorium for each performance - they made all the difference: Oh, yes they did!
With thanks to Liz Lucas for this report.
