St Peter’s Catholic School in Guildford awarded National Comprehensive School of the Year.

December 12, 2022

Congratulations to St Peter’s Catholic School in Guildford, which has been awarded National Comprehensive School of the Year in The Times Parent Power Guide. The Guide identifies more than 1,600 of the highest-achieving state and private schools, ranked by their most recent moderated examination results.

St Peter's achieved a record set of results, putting it in the top 50 schools, with its GCSE progress score placing it in the top five in the country. Toby Miller, headteacher at St Peter’s, said it was the faith-based sense of nurture that helped students at the 1,300-strong school to a record set of results. He trusts the students will take with them the gospel values that underpin everything, and which burn brightly at St Peter’s.

Also placed in the top 100 schools nationally and 17th in the South East, is St Andrew’s Catholic School, Leatherhead, where 92.9% of students achieved A*-B at A Level. Listed in the top 100 Independent Schools was St George’s in Weybridge, where 80.8% of students achieved an A/A* at GCSE.

Congratulations to St Peter's, St Andrew's and St George's, and all our diocesan schools on the exam successes achieved.
