Each year, our diocesan Pilgrimage takes hundreds of pilgrims to Lourdes – answering Our Lady’s call to prayer, healing, and community. Many of our pilgrims require physical assistance to make this journey, and it is the Pilgrimage's mission to ensure they make their pilgrimage safely, comfortably, and with dignity.
To help make this possible, the Pilgrimage Team has put together a Lourdes Pilgrimage Wishlist, which includes essential equipment and supplies - items which will directly support those who need the most care during the pilgrimage. Some of the most urgently need items at present are shower chairs, pressure-relieving mattresses, thermometers, blood pressure monitors and bed rails.
Launching the new Wishlist, Pilgrimage Director Alex Manko said:
"In Lourdes, we lean on one another – physically, emotionally, and spiritually. But to make this pilgrimage happen, we also rely on the generosity of others. If you're able to support us financially from the UK, your help will make a meaningful difference for those in greatest need. From all of us involved in this pilgrimage: thank you, in advance, for your kindness and generosity."
