Worth School, near Crawley, is delighted to have been named as Boarding School of the Year at the Independent Schools of the Year awards.

There were more than 700 nominations for the Independent Schools of the Year awards and Worth was chosen by a distinguished panel of judges as Boarding School of the Year, with Head Master Mr Stuart McPherson receiving the award at a glitzy ceremony at The Law Society in London on Tuesday evening.

In choosing Worth for this award, the judges considered the school’s strong pastoral care and spiritual grounding alongside academic excellence, excellent facilities, endless opportunities and how its deeply embedded six values mark the school out from other senior schools and go a long way in ensuring an academically strong, happy and healthy learning environment.

Other factors considered by the judges include the school's extensive weekends programme, which is open to day students as well, plus its phone-free structured days which allow distraction-free learning and relationship-building.

Mr McPherson said:

“The judges were impressed particularly by the way our values are reflected in the boarding life of the School.”

This was the seventh year of the awards and the ceremony was attended by leading figures from across the education sector.
